Fulham Running Club

Adults can turn up without registering. Choose a session, not just the club name.

Before your first visit

Adults aged 18+ can join regular runs without registration. Introduce yourself to the host.

New to running?

For shorter running, the club suggests Tuesday intervals or meeting members at Fulham Palace parkrun.

When
Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Sunday: 08:30 and 10:00. Confirm weekday times.
Meeting
October–March, Tuesday/Thursday: Johnny Haynes Statue, Craven Cottage. Check the chosen session.
Distance
Regular routes range from Thursday’s 6.5 km to Sunday’s 16 km.
Pace
For the shorter Thursday route, the club suggests being able to complete 5 km in about 35 minutes (7:00 min/km). This is published guidance for that session, not a universal no-drop or tail-runner promise.
Bringing a bag?

The club FAQ says most sessions have no secure storage. For intervals, bags may be left nearby at your own risk; other sessions ask you to arrive ready to run.

The detail that changes the plan

Weekday meeting points change seasonally. Optional England Athletics membership is separate from free runs.

For a Thursday visit, compare the specific shorter-route guidance with the run you intend to do. Settle the current start time and what to do with a work bag before travelling.

One useful question for this club

For my first Thursday, what time should I arrive, and which distance and pace group should I meet?

Confirm the date and cancellation channel with the organiser.

A shorter route still needs a complete plan.

The current FAQ gives a useful detail that a general “all abilities welcome” label cannot: its suggested preparation for the shorter Thursday route. Treat that as session-specific information. It does not describe every Sunday distance, guarantee an escort or tell you whether an interval session would be a better first meeting.

For an invented visitor coming straight from work, three unresolved details can matter more than the club’s distance from the office: the current start time, the correct seasonal meeting point and what to do with belongings. The FAQ directs visitors to current session announcements and says most sessions lack secure storage. Resolve all three before committing to the journey.

If the Thursday guidance does not fit the run you want to do, ask about the club’s suggested shorter or interval options. Do not assume that a session called “intervals” has a particular beginner intake or a guaranteed no-drop policy. The organiser can explain the actual format and what newcomers should expect.

For [date], which session would you suggest for a first visit? Please confirm the start time, exact meeting point and whether I need to arrive without a bag.

Keep the reply with the named date. A recurring weekly listing is useful for choosing what to ask; it is not a cancellation feed. Read the club’s current FAQ and its own latest session announcement before leaving.
